Ruffa Gutierrez looked very blooming and stress-free at the Avon Fashions Summer Collection press conference yesterday now that the controversy between her and The Buzz co-host Kris Aquino is already behind them. “I’m just so happy na lahat kami we can go back and peacefully work again. As a matter of fact nagbigay na ‘ko ng statement sa lahat. I just wanna be positive and move on,” the host-actress said.

Ruffa said that she was also surprised at how big the impact her ‘walk out’ had been to the public. “I didn’t realize that it’s gonna be a big issue na pati sa Malacañang, pati sa mga hair salon, pati sa mga coffee shop naging topic. I guess (it’s) because…why not?” she joked. “I have no idea.”

Last Sunday, after Kris made a joke about Ruffa’s transfer to another network, Annabelle Rama, Ruffa’s mom, made a strong statement against Kris and her brother, Sen. Noynoy Aquino.  But Kris already made a public apology and Ruffa already accepted it. The actress also apologized to Kris’s brother for her mom’s statement. The former beauty queen reasoned out that her mom, like all other mothers, only wanted to protect her.

To her detractors, Ruffa only said words of appreciation for helping her grow as a person. “Sa mga detractors ko, thank you because you make me stronger and you help me try to prove to myself that I can be a better person, so if you really hate me there’s nothing naman I can do di ba, to force you to like me,” she shared. “So if you really hate me, wala na ‘kong magagawa pero dun sa mga that are fair, I (welcome) naman constructive criticisms, eh, so thank you kasi you made me a lot stronger.”

The said issue also caused Ruffa’s Twitter account to get flooded with requests to follow her. “Ninety-eight thousand (followers) na ‘ko ngayon. Meron akong 30 friend requests, hindi ako marunong mag-add. Paano ba sila i-add?” She also added that the reason why so many people wanted to be her Twitter friend is because then want to learn about the latest developments between her and Kris.
